Three panels to tackle airport
The board of Airports of Thailand (AOT) yesterday approved the establishment of three special committees to investigate and resolve problems at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
General Saprang Kalayanamitr, deputy commander of the Royal Thai Army and also chairman of AOT's board, said after the meeting that the first panel would work on relieving the problems of passengers at the airport and others who had bad experiences there.
He said the second committee would oversee security at the airport to eliminate criminal problems as well as terrorism.
The third panel will be responsible for tackling corruption at the airport. "The three committees are expected to answer the public's doubts over several matters involved with the airport and help resolve any problems," said Saprang.
AOT has agreed to hold a board meeting every Friday. The board will consider a performance assessment of AOT president Chotisak Apasaviriya at the next meeting.
