Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT) will hold a meeting next Wednesday to sign off on the operational plans for Don Muang airport after the opening of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

AOT president Chotisak Asapaviriya said yesterday that caretaker Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra would chair the meeting. After hearing from relevant agencies, AOT has received suggestions to use Don Muang as a venue to for Royal Thai Air Force flying activities and for private and charter flights.

Chotisak said there were also proposals to use passenger terminals I and II to organise trade exhibitions and other important events. The air cargo and domestic terminals will be developed to become aircraft-maintenance stations. "The Royal Thai Air Force has drawn up a development plan to create Thailand as an aircraft maintenance regional hub," he said.
