Subject: Resolution of compensation on noise pollution at Suvarnabhumi Airport
To: President, The Stock Exchange of Thailand
Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) has convened the Board of Directors Meeting No.21/2006 on Friday, December 8, 2006 at the Conference Room 1 on the 5th floor of Airport Operation Building (AOB) at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Board of Directors has come to the resolutions of compensation on noise pollution at Suvarnabhumi Airport as follows:
1.Resolve to submit the request for approval of additional amount totaling Baht 468.438 million to the fiscal year 2007 budget for Environmental Mitigation Measures of Suvarnabhumi Construction project to the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB).
2.Based upon the NESDB's approval in item no.1, the Board of Directors will approve the budget totaling Baht 389,808,804 for the following matters:
2.1 Provide compensation totaling Baht 43,330,444 to 3 residents who are affected by the noise pollution and agree to sell properties (3 plots of land and 8 buildings) to AOT.
2.2 The remaining budget totaling Baht 346,474,360 is reserved for the following purposes:
2.2.1 To compensate residents who are affected by noise pollution and might reach the agreement through negotiation with AOT (29 plots of land and 36 buildings).
2.2.2 To provide assistance in building maintenance for residents who do not agree to sell their properties (8 plots of land and 18 buildings).
2.2.3 For residents who have not contacted with AOT at the initial stage (4 plots of land and 5 buildings).
3.Resolve to submit the request for approval of additional amount totaling Baht 174,766,274.40 to the fiscal year 2007 budget to the National Economic and Social Development Board (NESDB).The said additional amount is planned for an improvement to the highly sensitive and noise-affected areas, which are in the zone of noise level between Noise Exposure Forecast: NEF 30-40 based on the study report on Airport's Environment-Impact Assessment of the National Institute of Development Administration .
